On their hunt for a good place to eat, they stumbled on a street vendor who was selling fresh fruits and vegetables. Bunches of bananas hung overhead as they passed heaps of coconut, guava and mango. Further down were stacks of neatly bundled lemongrass. Alexa picked a bunch from the top, bringing them up to her nose. She was surprised by the fresh, zesty aroma.

The friendly vender asked if he could help. Janice answered: “We’re actually looking for a good place to eat but your display just smelled so wonderful!”

He steps around the table to point the way. “Just down the road for the best lemongrass coconut soup in Thailand. I supply!” He laughed heartily, lifting a stock of lemongrass into the air like a trophy…
